Recover a sleeping bag

How to recover a sleeping bag?

A well used sleeping bag with the fabric worn out.

Just in one place, the rest of the sleeping bag is in good state.

Search for a nice fabric in corresponding color.

Measure more than the real distance, just for security.

Cut the new fabric 2 x this size by the width of the sleeping bag.

Sew one side over the width.

Double the fabric, 

and sew the short sides.

Turn the fabric inside out over the sleeping bag,

 and sew it together.

You can camping again!

Flower, cross stitch

I like this red flower.

Spring, Cross stitch

The cold and dark days of the last weeks,

 make me desire of the nice colors the spring will bring us.

The bright red of the poppy,

and the yellow and purple.

Butterfly, Cross stitch

The butterfly is as in the original pattern

 The flower, I did change into a blue flower,
I think the blue color fits better with the orange of the butterfly

And a bit of yellow like in this Aglais urticae.
This butterfly has such an amazing combination of colors.

Easy X-mas decoration, recycling

Time to start making Christmas decoration

It is real simple and fun.

At the end I did put a straight pin not to untwine.

In a few days the roses will be dry,

And the colors will be slightly browner.  

A bit of spray paint and you have your Christmas
decoration for your door wall or table.

Shopping Bag, Tutorial

The plastic bags will disappear and

a fabric bag is sustainable.

Do you need a better reason to make yourself 

a shopping bag.

We cut twice: outside toppart 36 x 10 cm

We cut twice: inside toppart 36 x 10 cm

We cut twice: 40 x 60 cm.
inside and outside bag.

On the short side, we measure 10 cm from the side,
The intermediate piece of 20 cm, we wrinkle.
And we sew it to the top.

So we get this result, 
we do that 4 times, 2 front and 2 back sides of the bag

We close the seam of the inside bag on both sides.

We make a corner of 4 cm in the bottom of the bag,
on 2 sides. 

The outer bag we turn to the right side of the fabric to the outside.

For the straps we cut 2 : 70 x 10 cm.

Fold both sides of the fabric to the middle and iron the fabric.

Fold again and stitch the strap on both sides.

Now place the strap on the inside pocket 8 cm from the side seam.

and sew it very well.

Do this for both handles.

Now slide the inner bag into the outer bag.

Pin the 2 layers together and stitch them together.

And you have your shopping bag ready to shop.
